Sometimes in April
The movie Sometimes in April which provides a detailed account of the '94 Rwandan genocide was shot in Rwanda (unlike Hotel Rwanda). We passed by what used to be the headquarters for the production of the movie, located in Kigali.The Sainte Famille church - shown in the movie - was a major refuge during the genocide and was also in fact, one of the places our driver Felix himself took refuge.

I mostly wonder if the Hutus and Tutsis are now happily living side by side with no bad feelings on the side of the Tutsis or are the Tutsis mostly dead. And arent you terrified when you meet a Hutu?
Mallika, How do you and your family keep your emotional bearings, your sanity while walking through the dust and bones and memories of this horror? Not that I think you should not be there...I wonder how to being such a witness changes one.
